Yeah, that was great! That show is the best on TV. Just last night I was watching the episode where Peter sees his son naked...Ha!!

Family Guy still seems great; American Dad is mediocre. Shame Fox still obviously don't have the first *clue* why Family Guy is so popular though...

I take it back. Tonight's episode had some funny bits, but overall was the most "forced"-feeling Family Guy I've ever seen. Nowhere near up to old standards.

I was just waiting for the return of the chicken. Best Die Hard spoof ever.

I like how they kept the style of the show intact: Lots of flashbacks, random crap all the time, story jumps from one plot to another every 5 minutes, and Quagmire.

Personally, that was what I didn't like. The chicken thing was good, but went on WAY too long. Yes, they used to do stuff like that (Peter injuring himself, then sucking in his breath a million times springs to mind), but it didn't go on THAT long. That, plus a lot of the jokes were just not quite "on". A few were still bust-a-rib funny - for example, the unveil of Quagmire in the restroom; God flirting with girls, then telling Jesus to go get the car when he killed one; even Peter accidentally getting into bed with Chris was pretty damned funny. A lot of the jokes were played out too far, or the timing seemed off, or they just plain weren't funny enough, though. That, plus I'm gradually becoming convinced that the Family Guy folks are now actively TRYING to get kicked off the air again, presumably believing the notoriety will boost their DVD sales (where the real money is) even more...

Ya, I do believe they're trying to push the limits of FOX's control, but I highly doubt FOX will let Family Guy go again, because there are so many networks willing to pick it up. I like how they drag stuff out, intentionally annoying the crap out of people, and the origin of Cleveland's slow speech was great.

How many of those networks will remain willing to pick Family Guy up if Fox drop it, when we live in the land of the nipple-slip fine?

PBS would jump all over it. NBC would take it, especially if Fear Factor is still on. CBS needs it to counter all of their CSI shows. The WB should pick it up to replace all of their religious shows. The only network that would not touch it is ABC, I can't picture Family Guy co-mingling with The Wonderful World of Disney and Oprah.

Really though, if FOX dropped it, I would say someone like MTV or Cartoon Network would be all over it.

Cartoon Network already has the rights to it, why do you think Fox ever picked it back up in the first place? (Hint: Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block spurred a lot of those DVD sales).

MTV wouldn't be able to get it because Cartoon Network already has the rights. As for the other terrestrial broadcasters, PBS / ABC / CBS and the like, if Fox dropped it because it was offending some of their audience and risking them being fined for "indecency", there's not a chance that one of their rivals would pick it up for the exact same reasons.

PBS... Ha - that's the absolute LAST place that would ever touch a show like Family Guy.
