This app will allow you to check the weather radar in real time. this is what the current weather radar looks like right now for the area that you typed in. Most people think that radars pictures go around in circles to show an updated picture that is analog. radar pulses go out in all directions at the same time. a computer then determines any echos that might be sent back i.e. rain snow hail smoke and the density. different altitudes are "queried" at the same time to determine the height of the storm. the red, orange, and yellow areas of a storm indicate the possibilities of dangerous weather conditions. The reason why this might be important is if you are out golfing and you see an approaching storm you can determine if it is a light rain shower or a "gully washer". I drive a truck for a living. The sides of my vehicle are very long and verticle which makes it difficult to drive in heavy crosswinds. I am based in Oklahoma where the winds come sweeping down the plains in front of the tornadoes. I have no interest in visiting the wizard of oz in my kenworth.
