Okay I'm sure we have all broken/lost phones in a somewhat humourous way (maybe not when it actually happened). So now you should tell us how it happened. I will start...

I had a nokia phone when i was 16 and I was at a news year party and this girl asked me if she could borrow it. I was like sure, well she ran off to the bathroom to make a call, it was quiet in there. Well apparently her boyfriend broke up with her so in a rage she threw the phone, it bounced around and ended up in the toilet. She came out with her arm all wet and dripping and handed me back the phone and said she would replace it.

    ok...your turn

    Re: Cell Phones We've Lost...

Was riding to work with my husband (now ex). I was wearing a long trench coat. When I got out of the car, I thought I was sliding the cell into my pocket, but in reality, it slid down my coat and onto the ground. I was unaware until as he started to drive away, heard a sickening, yet immediately identifiable sound. Oddly enough, the phone still worked, but the LCD was toast. Looks like I broke the chain of phone broken as a consequence of anger mismanagement. That's what a CWL (concealed weapon license) is for...j/k. I DID shatter a double glass pane window when I threw a shoe at him in the heat of an argument once. He ducked, darn it. Smiles.

Primewoman, did you get your shoe back?

I did something similar once, well except for the anger management part, as i was getting out of my car i went to slide my phone on the side pocket of my jacket when all of a sudden i hear the unmistakeable sound of a cellphone hitting the pavement, i guess i missed the pocket... all of a sudden i hear a car screatching around the corner so i got out of the way only to step on my cell phone making me look like i was sliding onto first base.

    Re: Cell Phones We've Lost...

Working in the kitchen I had my Sanyo 7300 on the shelf above my (set to vibrate..). I was just about finished mixing the 20 litre bowl of quiche batter when the unit starts up (my wife calling) and does a fatal nose dive into the thick viscous mixture. It didn't even live to sink to the bottom.

Now my wifes 7300, another story.
I was washing the dinner dishes and heard a rattling sound near me ...somewhere. when I stopped washing the dishes I could see ripples in the water. Her phone had vibrated in to the sink and was still going. I am not sure who was calling. Phone still works to this day.

she gave me 300 cash about a month later. I didn't replace the phone right away though.

    Similar note:

Just recently my grlfriend was wearing a hoodie sweater and she bent over to flush the toilet and her cell phone fell into her toilet. So I found it amusing cause similar thing happened to me.

    Re: Cell Phones We've Lost...

So far I have only misplaced a few cell phones and pagers. So far I have been lucky enough to misplace them while they still have a charge on the batteries. And the few times I didn't find it within a few hours/days, the low battery alarm was enough to help me find them in the middle of the night. Of course with one pager that was almost 10 months after I lost ..er um, misplaced it!

    Re: Cell Phones We've Lost...

I've only lost one phone so far, but it was in a really dumb way

I was putting up christmas lights the day after thanksgiving, it wasn't warm out, but there was no snow or rain, just overcast. So after lugging up some lights to the roof i got a call, i answered, talked (while on the roof) , hung it up and put it into my pocket. I proceeded to hook up lights and when i was done, it started snowing, not light snow, heavy stuff coming down like crazy. I Brought the boxes down form the roof and went inside as the storm was quickly getting worse. After about 45 minutes i went to make a call and realized i couldn't find my phone. I guess it slipped out. So the next day i climbed up to the roof and brushed off the snow and found it lying in the gutter.

    Man that sucked...

I dropped my old phone in a bucket of CLR when I was cleaning my apartment. Needless to say it was fried... I had only had it for a few weeks too. Damn CLR is strong son!
