This is wonderful, isn't it? (Note the tremendus sarcasam)

"New Scientist has discovered that Pentagon’s National Security Agency, which specialises in eavesdropping and code-breaking, is funding research into the mass harvesting of the information that people post about themselves on social networks. And it could harness advances in internet technology - specifically the forthcoming “semantic web” championed by the web standards organisation W3C - to combine data from social networking websites with details such as banking, retail and property records, allowing the NSA to build extensive, all-embracing personal profiles of individuals."

There's a fine line between 'reasonable expectation of privacy'. IMO you can not expect any privacy on the internet in less you choose to hide youself, which most people don't know how to do. Most people are unaware that every move they make on the internet is logged somewhere. It just when that information is gathered by one large source to people get word and start to get worried about it. In short conclusion, I think the general public is stupid.

There's a certain cell phone forum (certainly not this one!) that has the same general atmosphere.

I couldn't agree with you more.

    Big brother is always watching
they've been able to do this with telephone services for years and years - key words trip computers into logging calls, for example, someone talking about terrorism...

...lookout here comes big brother after 'cozi

Heck "THEY" can listen to all my calls and read every single thing I type.

I just hope their being paid well to sit and read/listen to it all because I type and speak in codes 24/7! Yes that's right I gonna overturn something or nothing, and might just start with my sock drawer! Just wait until I get back to my space ship! They'll be sorry, they'll all be so very very sorry!!
