Re: Have Your Name Engraved On Your Phone?
If you where goin to rob a phone, why would you make it unusable by using taking out the battery full-time?, They dont just track the phone when its stolen they block the IMEI on their network so the phone us just useless.

Engraving on a razr is a good idea, as long as it isnt like, on the battery cover, some places have that, get it on the back of the handset on the houseing, that should do it =P

Re: Have Your Name Engraved On Your Phone?
On the back there is a beautiful 'M' Motorola logo. I put my name, on a curved path like a rainbow over the 'M' logo and then two small lines centered beneath the logo with my phone number at work, and an even smaller line with my e-mail address. The work was done with laser engraving and is almost identical quality as the engraving of 'T-Mobile' which is below all of the above. I used a serif font, similar to Times Roman Bold so that it is easy to read and there is no 'drop-off' in detail from the process of engraving.
It looks really great, like a part of the phone and is not really noticeable unless you are looking at it directly on the back of the phone on the area above the battery cover.
I am happy with it, but am still really careful with the phone as it is small, easy to drop or loose. I would rather not loose it at all.
One precaution for phone safety has been the addition of a nice camera strap to the phone. Twice already, that has prevented me from dropping the phone as I caught it slipping away - catching it by the strap.
Bigger camera shops keep a bin with used and new digital camera straps so I picked out a few at $1.00 each and keep a spare. they have silver or black straps so you can get pretty much exactly what looks and works best.

Not before they are finger-print detected and nipped by the viper injector teeth and rendered immobile.
At that point the phone calls 911 itself and brings the authorities to the location with GPS instructions.
A nice additional back-up feature in case the engraving does not work.
