How many people here use AVG Antivirus? Where did you hear about it, what is your experience about it?

I used to use Norton, which is good, but it gets deeeeeep into your system, like AOL does, and is impossible to un-install. The last time I reinstalled my OS, Norton didn't install for some reason, so I took this oppurtunity to use AVG Antivirus. So far it's ok, it doesn't take forever to download updates, and has no pesky messages all the time.

I used to use AVG, but my cable company started offering free Computer Associates eTrust EZ Armor Suite. I have found that the all in one installation is much better for my purposes. It was a pain having to have multiple programs running to tackle spyware, spam and viruses. Now I have it all, with a firewall, in one application.

If it wasn't free, I would still be using AVG (and adaware, anti-spam.....).

I really like AVG free. It's lightweight and less intrusive than Norton. I run a "trendmicro" online scan once or twice per month just to check AVG and so far all is well. I also use adaware/spybot/spywareblaster/peerguardian-2/common sense.

cough...Light? Well, if you include all those other apps, then it aint so light now is it? (Becuase norton has all that built in) But yeah, it's ok so far. Although, I do like Norton.

If it feels light and acts light... its light. Norton was always so slow and bloated, even on my double pentium. To each their own LOL
