Re: Use Your Cell Phone As Money$$$$$$
What happens here is that something like this starts, and then all the refinements start coming out. Think tanks take an concept, and then all the flaws get work out, sometimes it works out as a hit and sometimes concepts never really take off, they just die out. will see.

So basically your phone is transmiting your credit card details wirelessly, thats just asking for trouble.

Re: Use Your Cell Phone As Money$$$$$$
yeah, but think, mastercard is already doing the same thing with their credit cards (the "pay pass" thing)... using RDIF sensors (IE: the "magnetic strips"). You're money, drivers licenses, credit/debit cards, EZ-Pass, etc... all have RDIF tags in them (see i-hacked.com for instructions on make a RDIF blocking wallet).

Re: Use Your Cell Phone As Money$$$$$$
we were actually just talking about RDIF.
Using them to keep inventory of our stores...
Walk in, wave the sensor around...presto! Theres what we need to order
(simplified of course...lol)

Re: Use Your Cell Phone As Money$$$$$$
So far it looks like the cell phone will end up being a i-pod, phone, email, credit card, phone book, computer, walkie talkie, and god knows what else.

Re: Use Your Cell Phone As Money$$$$$$
Airport security would never let a phone turn into a swiss army knife.
I liked what the Wachowski brothers did in V for Vendetta in concerns to the cell phone. It seemed pretty realistic to have it as an all-in-one tool (tv remote, etc).

Re: Use Your Cell Phone As Money$$$$$$
Soon enough you wont be able carry on phones to planes either i'd say, you might throw it really hard at someones head as a terrorist attempt.

In that case, they'll have to stop giving out canned drinks in the airplane as well.
