Re: Crocodila Hunter Steve Irwin, dead at 44.

You know, it's kind of ironic really; sad, and ironic. He stood close to the brink of death so often in his shows with the animals he handled, but was ultimately killed by the animal that he never saw. I love watching his shows, even though it is sometimes hard to watch him take his life in his hands like he does. He will most definitely be missed.

ill miss those crocodile files and crocodile hunter

but i knew irwin's death would have to do somethign with deadly animals

    i study marine biology

i heard the stingray he was killed by was a yellow spotted stingray

they r commonly harmless, unless u provoke it of some sort,

dus anyone if he stepped on one by accident? or tried picking it up?

Re: Crocodila Hunter Steve Irwin, dead at 44.

I was watching CNN and they interviewed a keeper for an Australian aquarium who said he could have just swam too close to it while it was resting and spooked it. It was buried in the sand and he couldn't have seen it. I work with animals for a living and I'm a real animal lover. I watched his shows all the time, and Animal Planet won't be the same without him.

i wasn't a huge fan of steve irwin, but it's crazy, how pretty much everyone is saddened by this. i feel horrible for his wife, he loved her so much, and those 2 kids, he was wild about them. this is such a shame.

It's sad because the dude was passionate about teaching people about what interested him. Good teachers are hard to come by. I have to say, I usually watched him to see what crazy thing he was going to do next, but I did learn a lot watching him be crazy. It's weird that he was able to do a show about the ten deadliest snakes in the world, pick them all up, and then get killed by something that's usually pretty harmless. What really sucks is that I heard they're planning on releasing the particular scene of him being killed by the stingray (it would make sense to release the REST of the documentary and maybe have his wife finish it out).

On the news tonight they said the video is in the hands of the Queensland Police and whether or not it would be released is up to them and Steve's widow. The Animal Planet execs said they would never air it or share it with any other networks.

Me and a few buddies were talking about them it releasing it today... we came to the conclusion that it's a matter of time until it (like most material) shows up online. This is the same man who came face to face with a poisones snake (literally, nose to nose)... it's a shame he died

He left behind a wife, 8 year old daughter, and 3 year old son.

    Good. I'm glad it's a rumor.

I read that his camera man was in front of the sting ray and he was just swimming above it not bothering the sting ray at all, they think becuz the camera man was right in front of it that is what frightened the sting ray...its sad news but you gotta figure if this mofo was crazy enough to mess with all these dangerous animals he had to know one of these days it would catch up with him
