Hi.
I'm a bit new to this cell phone business, I got my latest one two months ago.
My cell phone was stolen today. While I'm not sure who stole it, but I'm sure it was stolen.
I'm wondering whether there is a way to track it or find out what happened to it.
I have a year subscription plan, which I've only used 2 months of, which includes 3 other phones in my family, etc, and it was a Motorola Razor, new one.
It is possible to cancel it, but to reuse the number on a diff phone?
And is it possible to buy a new phone and use it with the plan?
Thanks very much.

Re: Stolen Phones.
Call your phone company right away! They are the first person you need to talk to so they can stop it from being used! Ask them about GPS location, apparently there are different laws in different states but I know where I am that Sprint can use GPS to locate my phone if I give them permission to do so.

Re: Stolen Phones.
So, it would be possible to actually locate my phone?
What if I couldn't find it? Would I be able to cancel my phone/plan?

Re: Stolen Phones.
I agree, you have to call your carrier right away. Otherwise, they will be wondering why you waited so long to report your phone stolen.

Re: Stolen Phones.
You'd have to tell them to block the current ESN or IMEI (CMDA, GSM, respectively) number on the plan and if you're not able to be located, you'll have to get a new one.

Re: Stolen Phones.
Won't I then just be forced to either continue out with the plan (while the other person uses my phone), or cancel the plan, and pay the cancelation fee of like $200?
Is it possible to just cancel the one number in its entirety, but continue using the other two phones included in the plan?
And how would I go about locating it?

Re: Stolen Phones.
LOL...so...I lose my phone, and it has this POS hanging off from it...whats preventing the person that stole/found my phone from just removing it from the phone?
IMHO...this is just another piece of crap that we as consumers absolutely don't need.
