Sheriff's deputies arrested a Chandler woman Wednesday who they allege had about 100 pounds of marijuana in her garage, officials said.

Deputies went to a house in Chandler just before 9 a.m. along with adult-probation officials. They were looking for a woman who was wanted on several warrants, said Sgt. Jim Kempher, a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Kempher did not release the woman's name or the address of her home.

"When another resident in the house opened the garage door, the adult-probation officer smelled an overwhelming odor of marijuana," Kempher said.

A subsequent search yieled three "large bales of what appeared to be marijuana," he said.

The suspected marijuana were discovered in a cabinet in the garage and weighed about 100 pounds, he added. Other items were seized after authorities served a search warrant on the home, the spokesman said.

The woman being sought on the warrants was found hiding upstairs and taken into custody, Kempher said.
