Re: Anyone good with plasma TV's?
Strange. Do you "hear" the TV try and power up ? My Panasonic LCD makes a "click" sound when I turn it on, just before the backlight begins to illuminate.

Re: Anyone good with plasma TV's?
I'm no TV expert what-so-ever, so these opinions might be complete garbage, but, for what it's worth:
If it's clicking when you turn it on, I believe the unit is getting power, and that the voltage regulator is working properly. If it wasn't, you'd hear weird noises, see strange things, it'd start smoking, etc.
That said, if the unit is getting power, but no picture, it could be a few things. I could be something as simple as your TV is set to another designated input. For example, I have 3 S-Video inputs, and can toggle between the 3 using the remote. Hopefully it's this
Otherwise, it could be something between the voltage regulator and the backlight is toast, so the backlight can't illuminate, however, you should then in theory still get a picture, just no backlight (similar to having a cell phone with no backlight, but it still makes a picture). Or there's a bigger issue where the LEDs AND the backlight aren't getting any power/voltage.
Another issue could be that the video input port is tost, which would emulate the same scenario if you simply unplugged your S-video cable.
However, you did say your audio also does not work ? How do you know it doesn't work ? If it really is toasted as well, I'd lean towards maybe a power surge or something overloaded the voltage regulator and burned something out.

Re: Anyone good with plasma TV's?
And you're totally sure the picture isn't there ? Trust me, with the backlight dead you have to look REALLY close !
And try getting some sound to it, plug something in and keep hitting input and see if the speakers work at some point.
