Re: Have you gotten rid of your land line?
Still have the landline here, sure it'll stay for good! Always handy when the mobile is out of action, and it works out cheaper too!

I have ATT U-Verse. This runs my TV and My high speed Internet. I kind of need the land line for that!

Re: Have you gotten rid of your land line?
I've been trying to get my wife to cancel out landline phone service for atleast a couple years. To me it's ridiculous to have it when we don't even come close to using all of our cell phone minutes per month and we get a $40+ bill every month for the landline.
In a lot of European countries cell phones have all but replaced landline because the cost of a landline is outrageous.

Re: Have you gotten rid of your land line?
I'm not sure if I want to do that yet because cell phones aren't as reliable as your land line and I feel as if you will always need a land line.

Re: Have you gotten rid of your land line?
Unless you only use cordless phones with your landline... then their equally crappy. I don't think we've owned a "corded" phone in our house... and that's one of the motivators for me to get rid of our landline. The reception on cordless phones I think is actually worse than a cell phone. And as far as I'm concerned getting a corded phone now would be a step backwards. I remember the days of having the extra long, ridiculously stretched out, tangled up phone cord when I was growing up and I honestly just can't see myself going back to that.

Re: Have you gotten rid of your land line?
I can not picture myself using my cell phone as the main line. My land line phones rings non-stop daily which is really annoying at times because folks always say "pickup...it's an emergency" only to be talking about nothing in general. I always say if it's that urgent call "911". My sister used her cell phone for the main line and the bill collectors were filling up her voicemail box, calling all times of the day/night/weekend with reminders about due payments lol! Plus, I only have 2000 shared day time minutes so it's not a thought of getting rid of my land line.

nope, it's always good to have one in case of an emergency where cell phones cannot be used.
