Year 2008 is coming to an end and many places may already be in the year 2009! Well, for me...it is only 5:47 here and I have several more hours until the New Year is here.

I am a holiday enthusiast, but nothing has more of an impact on me than New Year's!

Well, 2008 was breath taking. I am going to list a few things below which are extraordinary for the wireless industry. Then I'll list important historical events that happened in this year (some may be local to me ).


  • World's first touch screen Blackerry Released to the Nation's Most Reliable Wireless Carrier--Verizon Wireless, and the Largest Known Carrier---Vodafone. The Blackberry Storm
  • First 3G iPhone is ever released--July!
  • Verizon Wireless begins to approach to Alltel acquisition
  • Cingular---The new AT&T. January.
  • Verizon Wireless releases Visual Voicemail
  • Unlimited Plans become full circle with every carrier
  • Verizon Wireless employees illegally access President-Elect Barack Obama's person inactive cell phone account information.

  • President Bush visits Redding, California. First time in 35 years has a president visited this area since J. F. Kennedy.
  • First African American president elected. Barack Obama Vs. John McCain. 2008.
  • Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) employees fired after photos posted on MySpace show them taking baths in the sink [of KFC] where dishes are done. Anderson, CA.
