Well, AT&T DSL has made me mad for the last time. We've disconnected them and will be using Charter Communication's Cable Broadband.

Yesterday, we noticed the power indicator on our 2 wire wireless modem red. AT&T said they didn't know why. None of the other lights would work either. Our internet also stopped working completely to go along with it. Many many calls to AT&T resulted in the same thing: Please buy a new router(modem). Why would I? I wouldn't. I really have never liked their services anyway. I got rid of their home phone completely about a year or two ago. When we did that, we immediately started to be charged $40 for their Pro service which gives you 1.5 megs.

Well, about 6 months ago, Charter installed their internet in our town. Up until that point, AT&T was the ONLY DSL (Broadband) provider.

Got rid of AT&T and will be having charter hooked up on the 22nd...

Now I'll be getting 5 megs instead of 1.5 and the price is only about $15 or so more. Charter allows you to "rent" their modem and pay a monthly fee. They kind of force you to rent it...which makes it higher monthly than AT&T...but AT&T made us purchase the modem.

Anyone have Charter's internet? Just wondering...

Also, do you think 5 megs is worth $44.99 for the first 6 months and then $64.99 there after?

Opinions...

P.S. Right now, I'm using Verizon's tethering from my phone to computer...great!
