Hey guys, I normally sell my used cell phones, but I also have a new phones that are considerably out of date and aren't really worth much. Plus, they're a hard sell. So I was wondering anyone knew a good place online where I could donate my phone.

Re: Donating Cell Phones
A few of the buyback programs also offer recycling and donation programs where they take your cell phone and add it on the tab of one of the charities they are working with. One of my associates, Steve Hopwood does that practice for P4C Global, where he runs a sister company at Phones 4 Charity - Donate Used Cell Phones for Recycling, and Help a Charity!!. He actually donates lots of funding for many charities and frankly, he\'s a good guy.

Yeah, I actually work for Phones4Charity. We recently helped the Red Cross raise some money too.
I work at Phones4Charity and P4CGlobal in the day and slack here between breaks.

Nice, I actually did some research and found about the Red Cross's program with Phones4Charity on a news article and the interview they did with the founder Steve Hopwood. He seems like a pretty nice guy as they portrayed him in the interview.

Lots of buyback programs have this function. You simply have to ask. P4C Global's one of the few that make it a point to stress their charity work.

What kind of rates do these programs usually provide for the charity?

Re: Donating Cell Phones
I believe it's based on a flat rate per phone.

Re: Donating Cell Phones
Simply try to negotiate a good rate on the phones, beforehand. After that, it's all smooth from there.

Re: Donating Cell Phones
I always wondered, what's the mark up value in these programs.

Re: Donating Cell Phones
I do believe that there's a 50% markup. Mainly, because there's no guarantee that the used cell phone broker will be able to sell phone, especially if we're talking about phones that are 5 years and older.
