There’s no denial that privacy is a crucial aspect of any social network. Many people view the Facebook vs. Google+ debate as openness vs. privacy. In my opinion, it’s more about ‘privacy done wrong’ vs. ‘privacy done right’.

Re: Facebook vs Google+ Openness vs Privacy

Google+ is also laying down the Law on Identities....

Privacy settings within your G+ page is great, but if your looking to promote a Business, or list a well known business, how can it be expose on G+ if real names/identities are required. If i own "King Sporting Goods" but i'm require to use "John Doe" why should i bother.

You can promote your website/business within your G+ real-name identity home page, but if your searching for King Sporting Goods, it may take more of an effort since listings are titled by real names... John Doe

On your Home Page/Profile you can list many things, and if someone makes it to your page they can explore your interest and/or associations/Employment/Links/personal promotions.

    Real Names...

Google's policy can't work. For example, what about any person with a personal brand that happens to be a pseudonym?

Under Google's policy, Dr. Phil, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg and Ralph Lauren would be forced to use Google+ as Phillip McGraw, Stefani Germanotta, Calvin Broadus and Ralph Lif****z.

Facebook will clearly win. Although Google has a good concept, but can not enforce this. How could they, when barely reported it to Facebook?
