Help me out and answer some questions. I have never used a prepaid cellphone EVER. But I find myself in a situation where I need to use one to make just a couple of calls. I will be making a couple of calls then putting it in the trash. Just calls and maybe a text.

My question is. What is the cheapest prepaid I can get for this? And do they come with any kind of service out of the box. I don't want to have to buy minutes if I can get a phone that has maybe 30 min or an hour or something right out of the box. I was looking at several like a $29 Straight talk at walmart and a $12 Verizon phone at Walmart. Of course I would like to pay $12 get a phone that has some time out of the box on activation without having to buy another $10 to $25 card to use it for just a few minutes on a couple of calls.

I don't believe any of those come with minutes out of the box. You have to activate the phone on one of their 'plans' for at least 30 days and can't just pay for a set amount of minutes anymore.
