    * GSM Coverage sucks compared with TDMA coverage.
    * AT&T support staff don't do much more than follow a script. I asked why I didn't get coverage while visiting a friends house - the operator completely failed to understand the problem and proceeded through a clearly useless troubleshooting procedure.
    * AT&T operators stated that there was no reason why there would be a difference in coverage between GSM and TDMA - my further research showed this to be a complete lie.
    * Payments to the GSM account kept getting posted to the TDMA account resulting in several "final demand for payment" letters.
    * About half the times I call "Customer Care" they report that their computer system is down and they are unable to look up my account.
    * When calling for help - I get passed around from department to department waiting on hold and frequently being cut off.
    * Now that I want to terminate my service they want to charge me an $175 early termination fee - despite the fact that I have been a customer for five years.
    * Dual band TDMA / GSM phones only seem to work with GSM. When I called to find out why this is the wait time was 35 minutes.

AT&T TDMA service was great - it just worked. Dont bother with AT&T GSM - its the pits. And based on how I have been treated by AT&T in general I have to suggest not doing business with them at all.

I'm bailing. I just signed up for Verizon - its great, the phone is really cool, coverage is fine, and the support operators are empowered to solve problems. There is no going back for me.

It's bad. I actually paid the outrageous $175 termination fee just because EVERYTHING about AT&T was bad. I'm m uch happier with Verizon
