Forgive me if I am violating any taboos here, Im new...

I am looking to find who an ATT number registers back to.
First of all--does it work with these investigatory things online?
Secondly--what is the skinny on how this information is gained from the companies?

Yes, there are some online sites that can trace a number back to the user, complete with addresses... depends on the site though and you may not be provided with enough information to help you ...but since that's all you're seeking is a name then... you shouldn't have a problem.

The skinny? With software and techniques I've developed personally... by any means necessary! Most of these online services though... probably don't delve much further than what's available to pretty much everyone who knows how to find it (including the method mentioned by ukld007 above). Just enter the phone number in question into the search bar... it works better with land lines though...
