I am currently with Cingular and i have a V220 phone, with a plan and simcard, if i buy a Sony Ericsson s710a off ebay, which is a cingular phone, can i just swap my sim card without calling and changing anything on my account.

absolutely. Your account will just show that you are still using the other phone...but i do this all the time. as my signature shows...I use quite a few GSM phones with my numbers...I just swap the chips and go. Its that simple, which is one of the reasons I love GSM so much.

I just bought the s710a from Ebay as well and am going to do the same thing. I have insurance on my phone and I'm assuming I need to contact Cingular and tell them what my new phone is. This is how it worked at Sprint. Am I correct?

I had trouble swithcing mine. It only brought over certain numbers.
