i have the audiovox smt5600 and i am with cingular. i received the fone from the att side. i tried using my cingular sim card and it said i need a code. could some one help me thanks. sam atlanta

Can't do it. You'll have to get the phone unlocked. For a while Cingular was giving out unlock codes, but you'd have to contact customer service to know for sure.

What i did is, i called them and said that i will be traveling to Europe and i will need to have phone unlocked. Operator took my IMEI number and i received a call 4 days later with my unlock code.

Thats a rip off.
Most of the places charge you 10-20 buks to unlock your phone.
My recomendation would be to ask around your local cell phone stores. Usually some one will do it, or will know someone who will do it.
