I'm beginning to grasp the notion that prepaid SIM cards
"expire" quite quickly in USA & Canada. Is that right?

In New Zealand, a $20 annual top-up is required to maintain
a GSM network connection. Are we being spoilt?

Mind you, we are being screwed with rates for pre-pay.
