    Hi,A friend of mine bought the phone new off ebay and could not get it to work because we have cingular and it is set up for at&t so he gave the phone to me and bought a new one from a cingular store here is the what's going on. with our sim cards in it the phone work's fine as far as calling and recieving calls but it will not let us get on the web to download ring tones and it won't send pictures in a text message altough it will recieve them sometimes! we have talked to cingular and at&t and they have realy tried to help us as far as setting up the browser and the wb sessions part every thing is entered as it should be passwords the name the home page service type and so on but it just won't connect and says browser setup is incomplete? i talked to a cingular tech today and he said at&t and cingular use different software for the internet stuff and their is no way to fix it? is this true? thank's!!

    I'll try the web site tonight but the tech i talked to was from cingular and he's the one that said the software for the at&t internet was different from cingular and their was nothing that could be done to change it! but i'm willing to try anything! thank's!!

    that rep is an idiot, all it is is configuration settings, not different software, my RAZR is cingular, but i have t-mobile and i configured the internet on it, same goes with just about anyphone, the only time "software" might be an issue is when you have a smartphone or something like that.

    thank's i can get on the internet now but it still won't let me send an mms it tryes to but then comes up and says message could not be sent? i went to cingular site you gave me and i set it up like they said but still won't work any ideas? thanks!

    make sure that you selected the att mms profile in your settings, you should be able to do this by going to your messages, hitting the menu key, select inbox setup, select mms message setup, and go down to server info and make sure that the att mms sending profile is selected, then try again. Other than that i'm not sure what else we can try, but i will do more research if you continue to have problems!

    I had the same problem as well when configuring my at&t v600 to work with cingular. But it worked like a charm!

    you wouldn't happen to know how i can configure a nokia 6800a (att brand) to work with cingular's internet, would you? i unlocked the phone to use the cingular chip (the universal unlock code suppossedly) and now i want to use the internet but i get that "you must subscribe first" message. can you help me?

    * Bearer Settings:
    o GPRS access point: Enter the appropriate value for the APN.
    Note: If the APN value is unknown, please contact Customer Care.
    o Authentication: Normal or Secure
    o Login Type: Automatic
    o Username: [email protected] (case sensitive)
    o Password: CINGULAR1 (case sensitive, displays as "****")

    Once the browser settings are configured, please select it as the active web session:

    1. Select Menu by pressing the 5-Way joystick.
    Note: To select, press in on the 5-Way joystick.
    2. Scroll to Services and press Select.
    3. Scroll to Settings and press Select.
    4. Scroll to Connection settings and press Select.
    5. Scroll to Active Service Settings and press Select.
    6. Scroll to the appropriate "settings name" and press Activate.
    7. Attempt to access MEdia Net.
    8. If problem persists, please contact Cingular Customer Care.

    These settings come from a 6820 which is basically the same as a 6800 other than the camera and a few other things

    and I believe you can go to the nokia website and have them send the information straight to your phone, I believe thats how I did it when I had a att 6800 and got it to work with tmobile
