I know this has been asked several times, but I am unclear about something.

If I have a current cingular phone and would like to buy a GSM phone from ebay, from what I read, I can just take the car out and put it in the new phone and switch back and forth as long as it is "unlocked"
If the phone is locked, how do I unlock it?
