I have subscribed to the Cingular network, with the idea that it had free roaming. I currently live NW of Chicago, and have very few coverage problems, other than those relating to the junky free phone. I have no coverage when I visit my family in SW Wisconsin, and spotty problems when in LaCrosse, WI.
I'm looking to update my phone from the LG C1300 (sigh!) to a better receptive phone. I've been reading a bit about the different bands (850, 900, 1900...) and am wondering if there is a band suggestion (that my phone should have ), or a good phone to get for purely reception purpose.
C/Net claims it is 850/1900 dual band. Should I look for a quad band?
Also if anyone knows if it's even possible to get cingular service reception in the Monroe, WI area, let me know. I know it is covered by US Cellular and Alltel. Also, my phone picks up reception faintly just over the border in IL (Winslow, IL area).
Thanks in advance.
