Usually everyone complains about how expensive their cellphone bills are. I've seen bills as outrageous as $8,900!
Well I'm posting because I SAVED money. I'm new to Cingular and I saw an article on Gigaom about a new service called Cellfire (currently only offered to Cingular users). It lets you download coupons on your cellphone. I used it and I saved a bunch of money on a bunch of my regular purchases. I guess it's just another perk for being a Cingular user.
Check out the Gigaom article here

I suppose, but who want's junk mail coupons on their cell phone that may have your carrier charging you data charges, everytime it updates coupons. Pretty slick once it goes nationwide and the coupons start coming fast and furious, or even worse coupons getting updated on a daily/weekly bases, special coupons for contests... ugh I can see it not, someone that doesn't use the internet, getting racked in the cell phone bill.

is it really worth it? consider the following:
you receive a 'coupon' for $2 off something. but in the process you receive 8 coupon updates. i'm not sure of the data upload charge or text charge (however they do it), but just pretend it's $.25 per time.
now you've just racked up $2 in charges to save $2 off something else. pointless!
to me, all of these 'services' are scams to rack up charges. i'd avoid them.
sorry if i flamed your post g36csti. just discussing it with other members.

I found out that each coupon is 1kb. So each one you download is 1 cent. And you get coupon updates when you choose to get them. From my experience, the coupons are pretty good and the use of one coupon FAR outweighs the cost of a few cents of downloading.
I have not been bombarded by a billion coupon updates. But who knows what will happen in the future.
So far, it has worked for me and I'm happy.Motorola RoKR pWnx0rZ!

I haven't seen any other charges on my bill lately but if I do, I'll let everyone know.Motorola RoKR pWnx0rZ!
