Overall, cingular is pretty good. They do not have very good rural coverage, so they might not be the best choice if you travel much. None of the GSM phones have really good coverage in rural areas.

The catch with Cingular go-phone is that you have to either spend 25c/minute on calls, OR you have to pay $1 per day usage fee to get the 10c/min rate. So if you use the phone every day, you will end up paying $30/month plus whatever minutes you use during that month.

So what prepaid service you go with depends heavily on where you are located and how often you plan to use the phone. Tracfone has a new service that's a flat 10c/minute you might want to look at www.net10.com

    hope this helps!

doesn't it seem like people keep asking the same questions regarding prepaid phones?

we need to start using the search function!

    and my new pet peeve...

...picking providers based on the phone rather than the service. why have a sweet razr if you get no gsm reception?

    T-Mo's Rates:

    http://www.t-mobile.com/prepaid/rates.asp

    Cingular's Rates:

http://onlinestorez.cingular.com/cel...equestid=27840 (would be more specific, but site was down at the moment i linked)

Now you can compare for yourself! Have fun, choose wisely!

please use the search in the future. a lot of this stuff has already been covered. and i found those pages in less than 30 seconds with google.

searches are your friend. we are too, but use the search first.

    Go Phone

I work directly with go phones (Cingular backend) if you decide to get a go phone make sure it is a orange go phone because there are billing issues going on with the blue go phones. not able to credit accounts.
