if i was going to upgrade from the motorola V220 to the Siemen CF110 keeping the cingular service is this possible....they both are GSM phones, but the description for the siemen phone says it will work for cingular but not (850Mhz).

"THIS IS AN UNLOCKED WORLD PHONE AND AS SUCH SENDS & RECEIVES CALLS WITH ANY GSM SERVICE PROVIDER WORLDWIDE ON 900MHZ, 1800MHZ, 1900MHZ. IT CAN BE USED FOR CINGULAR /AT&T (NOT 850MHZ), T-MOBILE, FIDO, AND OTHERS. "

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

It will probably work but just not nearly as well as the 850MHz. In the states 850MHz is Cingulars primary band of network so while your phone may work you basically will be using service equivalent to that of a T-Mobile phone since they typically use the 1900MHz range. Best bet is to stick with a motorola but something other than the 220 I bet you hated that phone
