I no longer have an account with cingular but still have a newer phone can I buy just a sim card with minutes and put it in the phone.i just dont want to buy prepaid cell phone not as good.

As long as your "newer phone" is branded Cingular, you shouldhave no problem with it accepting a Cingualr prepaid SIM.
I believe you can buy a prepaid SIM directly from Cingular and avoid purchasing the prepaid phone if you like. But you should confirm that with a Cingular rep.

Yes, you can buy the sim card by itself. I just got one yesterday; comes with $10 to start with.

Cheapest I've seen is ebay. $10 starter time and SIM for $10 shipped.

Goto Cingular.com/gophone and for 30 bucks you get the SIM and phone used for a back up maybe in store a Cingular PAYG SIM cost 25 w\o Phone package
