I just 'migrated' from my AT&T account to Cingular on Saturday, and added a second line. You might say I was forced out because Cingular, after buying out AT&T, 'downgraded' their towers. I have ZERO reception in my apartment.
Now it is Tuesday evening and still no activation. The Cingular Wireless store that sold me my new phones said they could only do the activation and told me it would take two days to complete. They did however say I could do it myself but it would invariably fail and I'd have to do it all over again. I trusted them. Come Monday, nothing. Then they made up some bs story that there were some activation problems on the west coast and I'd have to wait until today. According to Cingular, there was no record of this. I went back to the store this morning to confront them and they assured me it would be fixed by six. Strangely he took the second phone, informing that he would need it for 'encoding', once activated. Come six o'clock...nada. I returned again to the store after six and the salesman who promised he would take care of it suddenly 'had to leave on an emergency' and took my second phone hostage with him...not kidding. The latest is they will activate my phones tomorrow and deliver the second phone to my home.
My question is, what the f**k is going on here? The second salesmen mentioned something about a commission, but why on earth couldn't they have just activated it on Saturday and get their lousy commission? Either there unbelieveably incompetent, or there's some skulduggery going on, or! I'm just a complete smuck for going through a cell phone store to 'upgrade'.
