Re: Push To Talk
That's cool and all well & good, but of course they're going to say their service(s) are all great...I just wanted to get some honest feedback from some of the people on here. A girl I work with was using it today and it seemed pretty loud, she was all the way on the other side of the room.
Of course, since it's not one of the main selling points, Cingular, just like Verizon only offers two phones with that feature...
Thanks for the links everyone, I'll check it out...

Re: Push To Talk
I looked into a little bit and I think I did see that you can convert PTT into a 'regular' call...is that true and can you do that with Nextel? This part of it is more curiousity than anything with me; while it is cool to be able to do it, direct connect is unlimited and transferring to normal voice would cut into your peak minutes. But I guess if you don't realize it, it's just a way for them to make more money, unless you got some serious rollover accumulated.

I've gone on several sites to look at the company in general and been disappointed at the phone selection. Unfortunately, you should be picking a company for it's service first, and then grab a phone, but too many times, it isn't done that way. It has to be largely proprietary as to why they don't make more phones, do they even?, that come in every version (cdma, tdma, gms, iden). Then you pick your service based on coverage in your part of the country, or world, and you have the phone you want, and the service you 'think' you want. There would probably be less churn if that were the case. Do I really have to go on EBay to try and find a phone I knew my cell phone company used to feature? Well what are you going to if trends determine the life expantancy of a given handset?
