Here is my question. I have a Nokia phone through Cingular, but would really like to purchase the Razr. I'm not available for an upgrade for another year, so I was looking at buying an unlocked phone. Now, can I just take my sims card out of my Nokia phone and place it into the Razr?
Thanks,
J

Re: Can I switch any SIMS card?
Yes, as long as the new phone is GSM (not the CDMA razr that verizon and alltel have, they don't use a SIM card and aren't compatible with Cingular's GSM network). If the phone is unlocked and debranded, it will only work as a phone (no text or web) until you configure the wap/data settings.

Did you sign a one year or two year contract?
Often, if you're through one year of a two year contract, Cingular will let you upgrade to a new plan at the 1 year phone price.
This price is usually 25% or so more than the 2yr price, but might be cheaper than buying an unlocked phone.
