I signed up for a tester program through mybluenotes.com via myspace.com. THey sent me an e-mail and said that I wouldn't be a part of the program. I get a notice that a package was trying to be delivered, so I went to UPS and picked it up. For some strange reason I thought that it might be the phone from cingular. I open the box and see two orange and blue boxes. I was so stoked. They gave me a free Cingular Sync (Samsung a707) and a multimedia kit for the phone. Inside was a little not saying that I get afree month of unlimited data service and get to keep everything. It came with a 1 gig memory card, headphones, USB cable, and Software. To top it off, everything that works with this phone works with my Samsung D807.
The phone already is amazing. The pictures are so clear and the recording is very good. It's a great phone and even better since it was free.

No problems here using Cingular... T-mobile is a crapshoot here in my neck of the woods... Funny how 3000 miles changes your opinion of a carrier.

Cingular also runs ads all over TV claiming to offer the best service -- unfortunately Consumer Reports and J.D. Power don't agree with Cingular and rate their service in Southern California as pretty poor.
America's best carrier oughta be able to provide generally good coverage in the nation's 2nd largest city. And if America's best carrier can't do that, they ought to at least be able to provide a consistent level of coverage on the largest street in the nation's 2nd largest city.
You might be ok with Cingular in your neighborhood. There might be people in some small regional markets who get good coverage from a small regional carrier too. The issue is that Cingular's talk doesn't match their walk. Their service s*cks in many large markets.
Having poor service and the HIGHEST prices of any carrier is hardly the hallmark of a great company. And that's the point.
