I have Sprint, but bought Cingular for the wife and kids. Main reason...cost. Cingular Family plans figure to be the least expensive (especially with the rollover) and their GMS service is ever expanding. So far the connection has been good and hassles few.

I think their service is crap. I've been with them for almost 2 years now (I thought the contract was only for 1 year). In 2 months, I'll be switching over to T-Mobile. Seems like all my friends get better reception with them than I do. I don't even get reception at my own house with Cingular but my friends with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile do.

FYI... t-moblie is a sister company of cingular. ever notice that they are just about the only companies that uses "sim-cards".

Cingular has the better deals and the better phones and the best coverage where I am.

But none of that matters much if dealing with them is a constant problem.

I was a Nextel customer for 3 years. Really great customer service, user- friendly, cooperative, helpful.

Cingular has been just the reverse: I will leave them as soon as I can.

It's incredible to me that companies spend big money on promotions and deals and then drive their customers away in droves, turning them into enemies, by inflexible and punitive policies.

Cingular has the worst customer service policies I have ever encountered.

I'd quit them in heartbeat if I could.

I have no problems with Cingular. I've been with them for 3yrs. and I never had any problems with them. Cingular has great deals, cool phones and their rate plans are suitable and convenient for me. So I haven't had any problems with them yet.

The Official results are in... and it doesn't look very good for Cingular... or AT&T... or Sprint. These three are at the bottom of the poop pile for major problems regarding poor coverage/reception, overbilling and general billing errors, REFUSAL to correct said errors, and poor customer service.

I personally became interested in this subject after having a multitude of service and billing problems with Cingular for over two years. These problems eventually led to my receiving a bill for over $3,000... when the bill should have been no more than $300.

Granted, I had experienced this problem with Cingular before... but NEVER on this scale! At first, I thought that a simple phone call would straighten everything out... But it didn't. And that's where the nightmare began. To make a long story short... Cingular ended up basically extorting over $1000 bucks from my family over this situation... and they even damaged my credit in a malicious manner.

For those of you out there that are satisfied with your Cingular service... I'm glad for you, and you should consider yourself VERY lucky because you would not believe how many people on the Internet are complaining about Cingular!

Check out the details at my site if you want, and if you have any questions feel free to email me for more info.

Why isn't the FTC, FCC, or Congress looking into regulating this service? It is time, guys! Please do something for those you serve! Does anyone here recall the completly terrible service the phone company used to give decades ago? Congress stepped in with all sorts of regulations, rules, and oversight. Cable went through something similar in the 80s. Any industry that abused the public eventually faced the government regulators - railroads, agriculture, food processors, autos, cable tv, radio to name a few. Check out the link above and click on Cingular. Tell your story and perhaps we can get a class action lawsuit going. If we can't get our Congress to wake up, perhaps we need to look to the courts for assistance. Moreover, since it is an election year, don't expect any inquiry soon - these fat-cat politicians don't want to interrupt the campaign donations from the Cingular corporate suits! Class action now!!!

WRONG! Cingular is owned by Bell South. T-Mobile is owned by Deutsch Telecom. Two completely seperate and differnt companies. BTW, ATT and Nextel also use sim cards.
