Use windows xp pro, you have more options in tweaking your system.

Im using XP Pro at the moment, overall its great but it is a bit buggy! like some of my programs like Winamp And MSN Messenger will crash for no reason! Its fast tho but i dont like the new command prompt! Bit annoying at times! At first i used home edition and pro makes home look like a lil toy!
I upgraded from 98se, at first i was a bit weary but once i got to know my way around the new OS it was a good choice!

Ok.
If your going to get XP Home/Pro..
Make sure you get the blaster updates plus a firewall straight away from one of your mates..`cus It sucks trying to surf the net once you just installed XP and you get "30 Seconds till shut down!"-----------------------------------------------

Make sure ur computer is fast, well not really fast but at least a 700mhz. I installed it on a 500mhz n it slowed mine down. But thats from my experience

You can put it on slow machines but you will have to turn all da graphics down low to get it workin fast!

no xp is good, but xp pro is really worth paying more than xp home because it really does runbetter.

i currently use win2k and xp pro, of course on two different machines. i've never had any problems with winamp or anything else. just make sure you have enough resources (memory and hdd free space) available. i have over 100gb free space and 1gb ram on xp pro w/ office xp pro and adobe software suite. if you're using winme, dump it and use win98se (it's more stable).
