    i am running 512mb (2x256mb) OCZ ram in dual channel, and i was wondering if i bought one 512mb ram, would the 2x256 still run in dual channel??? BTW i have a A7N8X-E DLX mobo if that helps

    I believe that you need to have two identical (or close to it) sticks of RAM to be running in dual channel.

    Probably best to pawn the two 256 sticks off on someone and then get your upgrade....

    yes, for dual channel you need a pair of the same ram to make both functional; I have 4x512 and it work quite well, even they are never fully used
