    ok i got a dvd burner but when tryin to install it it wont detect it or the other cd rom i got but when i pulled them out and just had my floppy in wit the hdd it worked fine i could get into my computer. i have set the jumpers to master and slave but still no look! can any1 help pls. and my second problem is my 2nd harddrive, i have got a 40gb hdd in my comp at the moment but i would like to add this second hdd in with it, so what would i have to do pls help me!!!! i will take pics of my whole set up and post them up ina couple hours!! ASAP!!! thanx!!!!

    ok managed to install both the dvd burner and 2nd harddrive but the software disk for the burner was faulty but its been detected so thats out the way! anyway i install the 2nd hardrive bios detected, booted ok but no 2nd harddrive in my computer, so i no i have to format the 2nd harddrive and partition it but i aint got a clue how, CAN ANY1 HELP PLS!!!!! i need info on how to format and partition (IF NEEDED TO) pls!!!!

    oh eah im gettin this msg to PRIMARY IDE NO 80 CONDUCTOR CABLE INSTALLED what doest that mean??

    no what that means is that your ide chain doesnt have 80 links .. look at it, you will be able to tell if the lines are fatter, if you see an 80 you will see that it has much smaller lines .. 80 of them to be exact haha and the other one has 40 .. easy to tell

    check the configuration of "master" "slave" or "cable selection" for the two drives

    OK... You are going to have to partition it and format it. First off, I need to know which company made your drive, so I can give you the partitioning software to help you. Second off: What operating system are you running? If it's just Windows 98/ME/95, then you should be able to just run fdisk to partition it.
