I recently upgraded to WinXP Pro. I have DSL and am using Internet Explorer. Now..when I want to download something..itll stop downloading halfway, or if the file is real big it wont download at all. And on AIM it stops halfway also when people send me a file. But, on a P2P program....it works fine and that seems to be the only way I can download things. Whta may be the problem and how can I fix it without buying anything. Thnx in advance.

if you have service pack 2 then it might be blocking it (if a bar appears below where you type in the http://www....). Or it could be the windows firewall or some other firewall that you have installed. If it is a firewall then you should be able to allow certain things to download (check in the options); or you could just disable it when you want to download something...just make sure it's safe!!!
