What do you prefer, custom made computers or brand name computers (like dell or HP)?

Heres me thinking im great with my 350GB!
My uncle got a new pc there a while ago and he has a dual P4 setup( 2 x 3.5ghz)
7ghz! And the funny thing he didnt have a clue what it was he just saw it was dear so it will have to be good! He will never need to upgrade 2GB ram aswell, and the bad thing is he baught it for.....the internet!

As soon as he has a problem, a quick mother board change for me, and he'll be none the wiser!

Well I see it this way
The Brand names can be cheaper, but it comes with a price called Spyware, ADware, Viruses.

2 years ago my Aunt just bought a Dell Laptop and she was having problems to connect to the internet. The last thing I thought it was is a virus since she has not added any software nor surfed the web yet. Somehow at Dell they put some viruses on the computer. I could not believe it. I understand Spyware and ADware, but Viruses???

    I go custom made!!
The best provider gives you a plan with the minutes you need at the right price. The coverage that you need to make calls all the time.

Dell coud not have installed viruses. It is a) illegal, and b) bad for their sales. It was prbly used and returned.

Yeah prob, or someone used a disk on the comp and she didnt know, cause you'd never buy a comp with viruses on it, esecially from a big company like dell.

ive only had brand name PC's (HP) but i would love to have my own custom one, if i ever were to learn how to build one. I mean, you get what you want for probably a lot less cash than if u were to buy a brand name that would have all these extras you werent looking for.
