Yeah I have had a similar email sent ot me telling me that my account was being used "suspiciously" and i should contact [email protected] to validate my information, and they would then let me either approve or diasapprove of the transactions in question... Well anyone with half a brain knows you can go right ot your ebay account and see what "transactions" have taken place... needless to say i spammed it.

If you get a suspicious email from ebay or paypal, send it to "spoof@(ebay or paypal).com" and you will receive a reply that will tell you either yes, it was a fraud, or no, we really sent it to you. this also alerts them to the site so they can take action to shut it down.
Ebay has a free toolbar you can install to your browser, and it warns you if you ever wander into a potentially fraudulent ebay site. Also, the toolbar has a green indicator thet lights up when you are on an authorized ebay/paypal site.
Yes, phishing and pharming is a part of life now. I have gotten spoof emails from ebay, paypal, washington mutual, and even my credit union. It's very important to be cautious and suspicious of anything that comes in an email. When my e-bills come and tell me they are due, I never click the link in the email, I type the address directly into my browser to make sure I am not falling victim to a spoof mail.
Hope this helps
