My new toy!!

I decided to treat myself today, So i took a trip into the town and got myself a new laptop. Its a P4 - 3.06 Ghz w/HT, 1 gig of Ram, 80GB HDD,Firewire IEEE 1394, 5XUSB ports, TV out! and a whole lot more of extra's!! Its my new baby!

I LOOOOOOVVVVE my laptop... my new toy is the satellite broadband it allows some really nice wireless in the house

And I'm proud of the shelf I designed and built above the TV... this is a low-res picture... if you wanna check to see that my mitered corners match up I'll attach the high res original upon request

(far left is the satellite modem... you can see the wireless router too )

nice laptop mark. by comparison, my desktop has less juice than it! but at least it works now!

is that the laptop ontop of your TV? How do you change chanels from your laptop?

No... TV out is also know as S-Video...

I got an hp dv1000... with the Celeron 1.5gig processor, a 60 gig hard drive (amazing how a few kids' movies can eat that up), and 512memory... its a toy... but its LIGHT and portable and the wee guy has knocked it over a few times now with no affect (knock on wood)... I'll take it!! My favorite part is probably the built in multiple card reader.... SO convenient. it has 3 USB ports, an ilink port, monitor out, S-video out, and an expansion port - an internal modem, internal wirelesss, and the usual network interface... it also has the ability to play CD's and DVD's without booting windows and has a remote that stores in the PCMCIA slot ... all for under $1000

The BAD part is that hubby got me this because he felt responsible for breaking my old laptop... except... errrrmmm.... I kinda got it to work the other day.... ummm... I thought the PCMCIA slot was trashed... but when I tried to connect to the new wireless network (on a whim) with the wireless card in the slot.... I just reloaded the drivers (which I had done before?!) and ummm... it worked... musta needed a rest, eh?!

wow... thats a TOY! my little laptop is a hand-me-down... from a top microsoft employee My uncle I got it from him, since he moved over to tokyo... amazing how jobs are outsourcing, of course, he makes $10k a WEEK untaxed THATS amazing... i think id take his job anyday

....and it probably cost 3 a week to live THERE! He;s a nice Uncle to encourage you like he does

I'm not sure what it is rob! But im in the LRC now, where 800 comps are all running on da net at the same speeds! So its some beast of a conneciton whatever it is!
