a blue message is popping up saying

i hope the above text is completely right
and the error is goback2k.sys

did you just install norton 2006? i had a similar error when i installed it.

i dont think i did instll it
i tried it on safe mode and it still pops up and im running it on a windows XP

Dang stop error, sometimes new software causes them because it replaces working drivers with untested ones. Restart your computer and as soon as your BIOS screen disappears start hitting F8. From the boot menu, choose to start with your "most recent settings that worked" and if that doesnt fix the problem, and safe mode doesnt work, I'm not sure what to tell you.
ACTUALLY if that doesn't work, you might have to boot the comp with your XP disk and try the recovery console. It's not extremely user-friendly but you can use it to repair corrupted system files.Last edited by Brad729; 03-10-2006 at 04:29 PM. Reason: merged other post into this one
