Simple option - Go download iTunes, and when you plug in your ipod it will install it and all the usuals, and then it will load the libary on it now, but you cant change it, you will have to delete that one and just move songs to your new iTunes libary and that will put them on the ipod for ya.

i just tried this on mine...

connect your ipod and start itunes. when your ipod icon appears, right click into its options.

under the music update area you want to switch updates to manual. doing this will cause your ipod's library (not your itunes library) to become "active" or able to be changed.

select all the files and delete them. this should cause you to have a blank ipod.

change the options back to auto update (if you'd like) and let your itunes library get imported to your new ipod.
