    Yeah, this is the RAM on the card, so it makes a nice difference to the card like the RAM on the comp would

    The amount of GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) RAM that you should have depends greatly on the type of system you are putting it in as well as the intended use of that system. Many cheaper cards rely on "shared video RAM", so your system should compensate for that by having more overall RAM installed.

    If you only plan on using your system to surf the internet, or it is a child's system for doing homework and such, GPU RAM is not a big deal. However, if you are a gamer or video/graphics editor, you will not only want to make sure you have installed plenty of system RAM, and you install a card that has plenty of GPU RAM (I have seen cards up to 512MB).
