as u may all know the infamous blu-ray player by samsung has been released in best buy stores in the us! they run for about 1k (999 USD)
i think it probably will not replace plain dvd's but i also think they will become quite popular as time progresses since sony is going to feature this in their ps3 and samsung recently released their blu-ray player, it will be big
but they r expensive...
i also saw a commercial "also available in blu-ray" lmao!
wht about you guys?

Re: blu-ray opinions?
Blu-ray wil be used for HD dvd's, you can only fit 20 minutes of a high HD movie on a normal dvd disc, so with blu-ray thats solved, and HD is goin to be used in cinema's soon, so a movie will be a disk, not a big reel of film. And they're not just dvd's, think of the data side to it the normal blu-ray hold 27 GB, but theres ones that hold 50GB aswell, and thats per layer. So no azndragon60640, its not a rip-off.

Re: blu-ray opinions?
I was told by a techno geek that the blu ray's will all be reverse engineered so that they will play all old style dvd's as well.

Hey a colleague of mine ordered a movie on blu-ray the other day, but who knows when the players will be out in Europe?
May the best format win!
