    Re: help!!!! Virus!!!!!!

1.power button I have to press like 2 or 3 times now to power up.
2.then it goes beep beep and says "extended RAM passed and starts counting to like 1000 or so.
    3. then it gives me errors 0251-system CMOS checksum bad-default configuration used.
error 0271 check date/time settings. After all this..I press F1 to resum and..
    4. A recent hardware/software change might have caused this bla bla..and computer starts.
    5. On main screen time/date changes by itself. I fix it, but when I start computer later that day it changed.
    6. When I click the START button, it says "new programs installed" and all the programs are my own that I've had for a while.
    7. when I go to certain websites (ebay does it frequently) it pops up this security page and I have to click ALLOW like 10 to 15 times so it can disapear.

    Re: help!!!! Virus!!!!!!

A couple free AV programs are AVG and Avast!.

Both can be found at download.com.

Avast! can run a scan before your computer even boots up, and might give you the chance to delete whatever program is causing your trouble, before it has the chance to load.

Should also get an Anti-Spyware program installed on the computer and run a scan. Free Anti-Spyware programs would include AVG, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Ad-Aware.

    Hope this helps!

    Re: help!!!! Virus!!!!!!

at first I thought It was just spyware so my buddy hooked me up with spybot, he said it was a $50 software and he was gonna hook me up with it if I just buy him lunch..that mother@$%@*^ ripped me off huh?
Anyways..spybot found a lot of junk..seriously..a lot and I scanned and destroyed..but problem remained. Its the only thing I tried. Thats why I just had a feeling it was a virus.
Thanks for the VIRUS links...Im gonna give it a try tonight and see what happends. THANKS!!! A LOT!!!

even if you delete all the junk and stuff, the vrus is probably still on your comp and is going to reinstall itself. I think you gotta get rid of the reg files

Sounds more like your CMOS battery is gone than a virus, except point 7 that does sound a bit virusy!

Have you ever ventured inside the case of your computer before?

Its a laptop, and no I havent checked anything in there myself. I just found out that AVG program is a spyware not a virus killer. for the spyware I was running spybot and then I'd run AVG but its also a spyware. Any FREE virus killer? because Avast mentioned above is a free download but to delete virus it has to be purchased and theres many of these programs like this too.
