My computer has recently become badly infected with tons of trojan horses. I have AVG and it has steadily been removing 10-15 trojans a day. My internet is very slow all of a sudden and i cannot turn on my automatic updates from microsoft. I need some help getting rid of these damn trojans once and for all

Re: Please help!!
mohit_sharma I am having somewhat of the same problem.. a few trojans I am trying to get rid of without formatting.. I'm trying SpySweeper, LavaSoft Adaware, AVG & TrendMicro.. they did a good job on a lot of the things.. trying to get the last of it out now.. you might want to try checking out some of those programs..

Re: Please help!!
I'll suggest what I suggested in an other thread about an infected computer.
A site called TechSpot put togther a 8 step instruction to help you get rid of all viruses, malwares etc. and its really helpful and really does the job. I can't post links yet so just go to the techspot.com forums and then go to;
TechSpot OpenBoards > OS & Software > Security and the Web > UPDATED 8-step Viruses/Spyware/Malware Preliminary Removal Instructions.
Follow those instructions and hand all the logs to the guys there. They will save your computers life.Service Provider: Mobilink

Re: Please help!!
Its better that you Re-install your Operating System. It will help you wipe out the Viruses and damage on the System files. But remember that, after re-installing the operating system make sure you install your security software to make sure you don't mess with them again in the future...
Some recommended Free Security Software are:
AVG AntiVirus
Avira AntiVirus
Comodo Firewall
Zone Alarm Firewall
Spyware Blaster
MalwareBytes' AntiMalware
McAfee SiteAdvisor

Re: Please help!!
Download Kaspersky Internet Security (even if you do not buy it, you can try it for free for 30 days). Then either make a rescue disk with the help of PE-builder and then reboot computer with rescue disc in it and let Kaspersky Internet Security scan your computer. Or just reboot your computer in safe mode without internet connection (f8) and then run Kaspersky Internet Security and set everything on high security and deep scan and just let it scan your whole computer, everything. It takes about 7hours.
Believe me Kaspersky will do the job. Otherwise just format your computer.

Re: Please help!!
Actually, the virus has to be caught/deleted.
Many people believe that swiping your computer would do the job, which is may...but it will only cover up the virus.
I swiped my sisters computer...it worked great. She had this annoying thing where it said that her computer is at risk and infected and download our software now. I think it was called AntiVirus2009 or something like that...but it was kinda like a worm or something. I then restored her computer to factory date with the CD. Well, it made everything seem to work well. We probably wouldn't have had any problems for a very long time...if she was sure to be safe...She bought Norton2009. This detected that virus we had attempted to delete by restoring the computer. Things don't go away...EVER...unless removed by software such as Norton, Kaspersky (which is one of the worst), or some other trusted software.
