Just wondering what the best mp3 to wav converter was.
I used to use Soundforge till my computer died(which is turning out to be a positive coz I'm starting afresh and downloading all the best programs)

So my question is : Which is the absolute best(and free) mp3 to wav converter and where do I download it?

Um (Late to the conversation this time...)
There are several that are good:

dbPoweramp Convertor is excellent - it also converts into and out of over a dozen other sound formats. It is free, however, if you want the PowerPac, that is shareware (unless you happen to know 'theartisan')

Media Jukebox - this is a freeware player that plays almost any audio or video format there is. It is free, but to "upgrade" to the Plus version costs (unless you know 'theartisan'). The plus version offers more options and faster ripping/burning.

Musicmatch Jukebox - good for nothing except mp3 and wavs. A really good mp3 player that converts well to WAV, but it will play practically nothing else. The basic player is free, but it costs to upgrade (unless...). Easy, good for MP3 - that's it.

WinAmp is good too - I have not really used it much though... I use Media Jukebox to play almost everything I have, and dbPowerAmp for all my conversions.

If it's for burning cd's, Nero make the conversion in real time, so you dont have to convert your mp3 files in wav's
    Bye bye,

i use dbpoweramp when decoding mp3, however i use audioactive when encoding mp3 cause it uses a fraunhofer encoder.
