MIDI files and palm pilot

I'm trying to put a MIDI file on my palm pilot as my alarm. The problem I come across is that is says that the file is "either bigger than 64kb or has more than one channel". The file is not bigger than 64kb so that must mean that it has more than one channel. Does anyone know how I can make my current MIDI one channel or another means of putting the MIDI on my palm?
