    i have an amd xp2000+ and i agree, they are slow. but its still miles better than my old pIII 500!

    I personally prefer intel. I've seen a video that compared what happened to cpus if they overheated. AMD CPU literally smoked, while intel just hung up, with no permanent damage. However, this is about two years old, so it might be changed now

    id think AMD is always better then Intel

    They are..

    Cheaper
    Faster
    and best of all they can Overclock...meaning

    if you buy a 2.8ghz AMD it can run faster than a 3ghz Intel.

    Most people think of AMD being the underdog, but if you really look at it, they both even out for what your money is worth. AMD is cheaper, yet for the same speed on an Intel chip, you would pay more.

    Use my AMD cpu for gaming and P4 for design work.

    i gotta say that u better choose AMD...

    here is my specs:

    AMD Athlon 64 2800+ (I.8Ghz)
    256MB RAM
    NVidia Geforce FX 5200 128MB...
    7.1 surround altec lansing speakers..
    40GB hard disk..
    Lite-ON DVD/CR-RW combo...

    and i gotta say too that my system works great.....u better go on with AMD Athlon 64...

    i think in terms of cost and efficiency youll get your moneys worth with athlon when you do simple stuff otherwise if youre crazy and need all that extra processing go with intel

    amd owns all. Intel can't touch em. And the price is affordable
